WINTER ROAD CLOSURE

Winter road closure. People coming from Geneva may well be tempted to take the Mt Blanc tunnel and come over the St Bernard’s pass. Unfortunately in Winter this pass is closed (it’s actually a ski run for the ski resort of “La Thuile”), so you need to come via Albertville/Annecy if coming from Geneva. In summer the pass is open to traffic and very picturesque, but at other times of the year please check in advance that the pass is indeed open before leaving Geneva if you’d like to head this way.

Please Note:

Wherever possible we would like to advise against scheduling your arrival and departure on Saturdays. Traffic queues into and out of the valley make traveling on Saturdays interminable rather than impossible, and we would like to help you have an excellent time every day and keep time spent in transfer to a minimum.
